Three Carpet Court stores across Brisbane have shut suddenly and gone into liquidation.
The Carpet Court franchises in Macgregor, Underwood and Capalaba closed up shop on Monday after going into voluntary liquidation.
The businesses are being reviewed by liquidators Shaun McKinnon and Charles Haines from BDO.
In a statement, BDO said the number of direct staff affected was being confirmed but there were less than 10 workers employed across the three locations.
The liquidators also said they are investigating the reasons for the business failure but it was too early to provide further detail.
The level of debts owed is unclear.
The associated entities which traded as the stores, Krytenberg 1, Krytenberg 2 and Krytenberg 3, were registered in 2022.
The sole director of all three stores, Brendon Krytenberg, declined to comment on details around the liquidation, noting further information would come from the liquidators and public filings in due course.
He said it was a difficult time for himself and his family.
News Corp has contacted Carpet Court for comment.
Carpet Court started in 1973 and claims to be Australia’s largest retail floor covering specialist, with more than 200 stores in every state and territory.
Many of its franchisees work in store, its website stated.
