A Queensland construction and asbestos removal group has gone into liquidation, owing almost $400,000 to the tax office.
Icon Qld Group, which worked across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Rockhampton, went into voluntary liquidation on Friday.
The company owned four different businesses across asbestos removal, skip bins, metal roofing and renovation services.
The other related companies as well as the parent company of Icon Qld Group were not in liquidation.
A report on company activities from sole director and owner Curtis Lyons said Icon Qld Group owed about $544,589 in debts, mostly comprising about $400,000 owed to the Australian Taxation Office.
The report lodged with ASIC said about $57,000 was owed to related companies and $79,025 was owed to roofing supplier Stramit.
The only secured creditor listed, Achieve Human Resources Consulting and Training, was owed $7,500.
However Mr Lyons wrote the Icon Qld Group had about $11,756 in the bank and it was owed $218,480 from debtors.
The report also said the company was owed $26,207 from the sale of a business.
The oldest of the businesses under Icon Qld Group was Icon Asbestos Removal, which Mr Lyons founded in 2017.
According to its website, he started as a one-man business, before it expanded to a crew which serviced Brisbane and surrounding regions.
